May Newsletter
by Karen Passmore - Thursday, 14 May 2015, 12:03 PM

PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE

It is with mixed emotions that I tell you that I have accepted a transfer to become the Principal of Brocklehurst Middle School next year. I want to thank students, staff, parents and community members for your tremendous support over the past five years. I assure you that I will continue to work hard until the summer and plan for next year as thought I was back.

Interviews to determine the new principal are happening this Friday. I have loved my time in Logan Lake and will miss everyone, but mostly “My Little Champions”.

Vessy Mochikas

Principal

End-of-year Due Dates for Library Materials
by Wendy Lloyd - Tuesday, 5 May 2015, 7:44 AM

The end of the year is approaching quickly, and already Mrs. Lloyd and Mrs. Lord are thinking ahead to year-end inventory.  With that in mind, the two due dates for library book returns are as follows: June 1 for students in grades eight to twelve, and June 12 for students from kindergarten to grade seven.  Timely returns of library materials makes the end of the the year much easier for our library staff.  Please scour your houses and vehicles for any library items that may have been overlooked.  Thanks for helping us keep on top of this challenging task.

Welcome to Kindergarten
by Wendy Lloyd - Tuesday, 5 May 2015, 7:42 AM

On Friday, May 15, new kindergarten students will take part in the Welcome to Kindergarten orientation.  This hands-on workshop is a great way for our youngest students to get a glimpse of what the school year will look like when they start kindergarten in September.  Students and their parents will be visiting the elementary school from 1:30 to 2:30 to participate in a number of centre-based activities.  Anyone who would like more information about this event may contact Mrs. Lloyd or Mrs. Passmore at the high school.

A THANK YOU
by Karen Passmore - Monday, 27 April 2015, 11:59 AM

A Thank You from a parent...

First, I'd like to take this moment and thank the Community of Logan Lake for their support.

I would like to mention Vessy Mochikas, not only is she an amazing part of our schools as a principal, she’s an incredible community member. I'd like to thank her for her support to myself and family.

In 2012, after losing my sister to cancer, I encouraged Mom to move up to Logan Lake with my nephews. This is when I really got to see Vessy for who she truly is. She's helped and continued to help my younger nephew adjust to school after losing his Mom when he first started Kindergarten, as well as the older boy adjust to regular high school programs.

I want to thank Vessy for reaching out to me after learning of my breast cancer diagnosis in October, 2014 and asking if it would be OK to do a couple fundraisers to help support myself and Family through a tough road ahead.

A fundraiser was started and a school newsletter was sent into the Community. The response was overwhelming. Our family is amazed at the generosity of the People of Logan Lake. We send a big Thank you to the Students and Staff at the schools, and the Local Businesses for their support and continued support.

Any other Community members I may have not mentioned, we can't express our gratitude and appreciation enough.

Chemo 8 will be May 19 this should be the last chemo, and then it will be time to attend a couple Grads, then about mid June for about a month and a half I will stay in Kelowna , where I will then receive 28 radiation treatments.

Much appreciated and Thank you again,

Mary Lindbergh and Family
