Year End Message
by Wendy Lloyd - Thursday, 23 June 2016, 3:45 PM

It's hard to believe that we are already approaching the end of the 2015/2016 school year.  Next Wednesday, June 29th is the last day that school will be in session for students.  To mark the end of the year, there will be assemblies at both schools.  The first assembly will take place in the elementary school gym at 9:00 a.m. after which students will head back to their classrooms to collect their report cards.  Parents who are in the building that day are reminded to check their children's lockers as well as the Lost and found for any items that may have been forgotten or misplaced.  The awards assembly at the high school will start at 10:30 a.m.  Students will then receive their report cards before being dismissed.  Students at both schools are officially dismissed at noon.  Teachers will be in the building on the afternoon of June 29th and for the day on June 30th.  Our office staff will be working until July 8th.  For students returning to school in the fall, we will see you back on Tuesday, September 6th from 10:30 to noon.  Have a great summer, everyone!

B.C. Education Curriculum Changes
by Wendy Lloyd - Friday, 27 May 2016, 2:03 PM

Dear Parents,

Yesterday, the Ministry of Education announced changes to the curriculum for Grades 10, 11, and 12 students.  Under the new curriculum, the path to graduation is more flexible.  The grad program still spans Grades 10, 11, and 12, but a student's path to their Dogwood may be more varied and flexible than before.  For more information, please take a moment to read the attached letter from the Honorable Mike Bernie, Minister of Education.  Information about the changes can also be found on the SD73 website at www.sd73.bc.ca.

Thank you.

Modified - End of year library deadlines
by Wendy Lloyd - Thursday, 19 May 2016, 11:44 AM

The end of the year is fast approaching, and already Mrs. Lloyd and Mrs. Lord are thinking ahead to year-end inventory.  With that in mind, the two due dates for library book returns are as follows:

June 1st for students in Gr. 8 to 12

the week of June 13th for students from kindergarten to Gr. 7 (books are to be returned during regularly scheduled library exchange periods)

Timely returns of library materials makes the end of the year much smoother for our library staff.  Please scour your houses and vehicles for any library items that may have been overlooked.
