School Distric No73 Library Learning Commons

SD73 has 44 school libraries. School library collections can be accessed 24/7 at home or at school through the link below.  The school library program is multi-dimensional and comprised of four main strands — literature, information literacy, leadership and curricular support and library management. Access the school library collections here: https://destiny.sd73.bc.ca/

A school's Library Learning Commons is the physical and virtual learning hub of the school. It is designed to move students to a greater level of engagement through inquiry-based learning and reading experiences, experimentation, collaboration and knowledge creation.

It is a flexible learning space that offers both quiet and social spaces, accommodating the different needs of individuals and classes, often simultaneously. The Library Learning Commons philosophy is a means to empower students to become effective and ethical inquiring citizens.

The HGEC Library Learning Commons (LLC) provides School District No. 73 staff access to a culturally rich collection and library services that supports the implementation of the K-12 BC curriculum.
