         School Based Scholarships for Logan Lake Secondary

        LLSS Grad 2016 Legacy Bursary:

         

         
        LLSS Student Fellowship 1:             1/$150

        Please submit the following to the
        office:

        1. Letter of Application

        2. Copy of Marks

        3. Resume

         

         ~ This award was established by the Logan Lake Secondary School student council to assist a deserving student needing financial assistance to further his/her education.  Applicants must be applying for Vocational, Technical, Business School or University.  Applicants must currently be graduating from Logan Lake Secondary School.  Recipient of this award must submit proof of payment for tuition of Semester 1 or receipt of textbooks at a post-secondary institution.

         

        LLSS Student Fellowship 2:             1/$150

        Please submit the following to the
        office:

        1. Letter of Application

        2. Copy of Marks

        3. Resume

         

         

         ~ This award was established by the Logan Lake Secondary School student council  to assist a deserving student needing financial assistance to further his/her education.  The applicants must indicate their contribution to the athletic, music, student’s council or other major programs in the school.  Applicants must currently be graduating from Logan Lake Secondary School.  The recipient of this award must submit proof of payment for tuition of Semester 1 or receipt of textbooks at a post-secondary institution.

         

        LLSS Grad 2011 Legacy Bursary:

        Please submit the following to the
        main office:

        1. Letter of Application

        2. Financial Needs Form (attached)

        3. Two letters of reference

         

         

         

         ~ Student must be involved in LLSS above and beyond just coming and going to class. Payment of award will be made proof of acceptance as a fulltime student as a recognized post secondary
        institution.

        LLSS Grad Leadership Award:      1/$200

        Drop off your completed application package to the main office by the scholarship deadline. Your application package should include: a letter of
        intent which includes your school and community leadership activities, a recent resume, an updated transcript, and at least two letters of reference.
        One of your reference letters should be from a school official and the other letter should be from a community member who has supervised and/or
        observed you in your community
        leadership activities.

         

         

        ~ A candidate will be selected based on a combination of academics and school and community leadership with greatest weight being given to your involvement in school and community leadership roles and activities.

        LLSS Leadership Award:                1/$200

        1. A letter of intent that includes information about your sportsmanship and citizenship to school and community.

        2. An updated resume

        3. A recent transcript

        4. Two letters of reference (one must be from the school and the other from someone in the community who has witnessed your citizenship and/or Sports activities)

         

         

         

         ~ Application packages will be reviewed after the deadline. Sportsmanship and citizenship (leadership) will be considered first, and then academics. Students must be successful in all courses to be considered for this
        award.

        Kamloops Thompson Principals & VP's Assoc Award:                                     1/$250

        Please submit the following to the main office:

        1. Letter of Application (including postsecondary
        plans)

        2. Completed Activity Record Form

         

         

        ~ One award will be issued to a grade 12 student who is currently graduating from Logan Lake Secondary School.  This award is based on Academic achievement and citizenship.  Preference will be given to students pursuing a post-secondary career in Education, but other vocations will also be considered.  The award will be made available to the successful applicant after proof of payment for tuition of Semester 1 or receipt of textbooks at a post secondary institution.

        Harry Holmquist

        The Logan Lake Community Forest Corporation (LLCFC) is proud to be awarding a Harry Holmquist Memorial Bursary of $1,500 for students in Logan Lake. 

         

         
        IDA Pharmacy

        The bursary will be awarded to a student graduating from LLSS, who will be attending a recoginzed college or university within a year of graduaton. Student must be pursuing a course in pharmacy, medicice, nursing, physiotherapy, ect. Scholarship is awarded at the start of the first year of college or university.

         

         
        Jason Paulson Memorial Award  The following information must be
        submitted:

        1. Letter of Application, including
        pertinent information, and outlining
        hockey/officiating achievements and
        other community involvement.

        2. Reference letter from a Hockey
        Coach or Referee-in-Chief

        3. Reference letter from your
        Association President.

        4. Reference letter from your Principal.

        5. Copy of your marks.

        To recognize young hockey players and officials who develop their academic programs in terms of their
        career aspiration, at the same time nourishing their interest in hockey.
        Award winners must currently be registered within an Association during
        Grade 11 or 12 and be a graduate of LLSS living in Logan Lake. Recipients will have two years to provide proof of registration at a recognized Canadian
        Post Secondary Institution. Award is paid upon proof of payment for Semester One.

        Qualifications:

        1. Good sportsmanship, leadership
        and character.

        2. Hockey and/or officiating ability and
        performance.

        3. Good

         

        Kamloops Blazers Scholarship

         Applicants must submit the following,
        along with the attached Application
        Form:

        1. A transcript of grades.

        2. Two letters of reference (one from
        a member of the community and one
        from the school to indicate
        involvement).

        Submit application to main office.

         

         Available to a student (male or female) who can show evidence of school/community involvement, athletic participation, minimum of 2.5 GPA (C+ standing), going on to postsecondary
        in a trades, technical or
        academic program.

        Kamloops Honda Bursary TRU   1/$500  *need to add info   One award is given to each secondary school in School District #73. Awarded on basis of school and/or community involvement. Must have C+ or better average and should demonstrate financial need. Must attend TRU.
        KTTA Kamloops Thompson Teachers Assoc - School-based Bursary                           1/$500    
        LL Volunteer Fire Dept Applicant must show past and current commitments to school and community volunteer organizations. Be enrolled in a a two-year minimum program and attend a post secondary institution full time.

        The Logan Lake Community Forest Corporation (LLCF) is awarding two (2) $750 bursaries for students in Logan Lake who, in addition to a reasonable level of academic success, have contributed to the school and/or community in a meaningful way and are pursuing post-secondary education.
